What a decade... A truly transformative one for me!

My favourite part about reviewing and reflecting on the year and the decade behind me is thinking about my biggest challenges + lessons learned. Looking back, I’ve noticed how much has happened over a decade. How much I’ve changed, grew and evolved.

When I rewind to 2009/2010, I am met with a totally different version of myself.

In retrospective I can truly see how my hardships, struggles and challenges were...

Do you know these days where everything seems to go wrong?
You know, days where things keep happening to you over and over again… and you feel like someone up above is testing to see if you're really committed to your happiness.
I almost had one of those days on Saturday.
Saturdays are my favourite. I get to do my full long morning routine while my husband spends time with Maya. This Saturday, after a sleepless night, I had woken up by her at 5.00am....

December 16, 2019

It’s 9:00am on a Monday, Maya is napping and I’m enjoying my coffee while soaking up this beautiful morning sun. I’ve just sat down to write down my gratitude list and one of the first things that came up for me was my morning routine.
I’ve been mentioning my morning routine quite a lot lately, because truthfully since Maya was born it has become more important than ever. Whether it’s 15 min or 2 hours it’s my 'oxygen mask'.
How do you like to start you...

Last week I wrote a post on social media about the challenges I’ve been experiencing around getting back to my regular post-pregnancy yoga practice and the mindset shift I had to make to make it work in this phase of my life.

I’ve got a lot of comments and messages on this post + questions about how to find balance between sleep and self-care with a busy life.

How to make space for things that matter to us…

Things that ignite us

That light a spark

That nourish o...

I wanted to share with you something I heard the other day that really resonated with me.

‘I’d rather be here now’

I’ve spent so many years of my life living in a hypothetical future.

Every day I’d wake up in the morning with the thought -

‘When…. Then…’

When I’ll lose weight I’ll be happy.

When I’ll have the perfect body I’ll be more liked.

When I’ll be skinny I’ll finally have a life.

It took me almost a decade of an unhealthy relationship with food & my body to...

I feel very proud of myself for making up this recipe while 'wearing' my 3-months old baby ;) Our days have become full in all the best ways since Maya was born and it's been challenging to find time to cook (something I love doing). But few months in and we've figured out some strategies to get things done while caring for Maya. Has it been perfect? No... But it has been so sweet to simply appreciate those times when I manage to pull off a delicious dinner...

They say that when a baby is born, so is a mother. The transition to motherhood is one of the biggest transitions a woman can go through in life. For some women this transition is already noticeable in pregnancy (or even earlier) and for some later on - when they meet their baby for the first time. Every woman’s experience is different. I started experiencing this transition from the final trimester of my pregnancy, through labor and finally when I welcomed...

This post is a part of blog post series in which I'm answering questions you guys have sent me until I head out on maternity leave later this summer.

Ready for the second question?

Let’s dig in!

How can I stop the urge to eat everything in sight?

This is a question I get asked quite often…

And I soooo get it! I use to think that food has control over me and that my problem is that I just don’t have enough willpower. My solution was restriction - I didn’t allow...

This post is a part of blog post series in which I'm answering questions you guys have sent me from now until I head out on maternity leave later this summer.

Ready for the first one?

Let's dive in: How to eat intuitively in a relationship?

I love this question! It’s definitely a topic that often comes up with clients who start their intuitive eating journey with me. Whether you are new to intuitive eating or you’re at it for a while now, ‘sharing’ this journ...

As I'v recently discovered my iron levels aren't great (hello third trimester!) I've decided to be more intentional and planned around making sure I'm getting enough iron in my diet (let me know if you're interested knowing more about what I did). These 'falafel' balls are rich in iron as they contain lentils and almonds (both high in iron).

Why I love this recipe...?

It's a super simple quick recipe (just 6 ingredients + seasoning!)

AND - you can ea...
